The Society celebrated its 30th year when the Mayor of Yeovil, Councillor Julian Freke, was asked to join members at a party held at the Yeovil Sports Club. A cake, decorated with a specially produced picture of the West Country Class locomotive No.34004 'Yeovil', was cut by both the Mayor and the Society's President, Ken Hicks.
